WHO WE ARE

About Us

Building on the CriSeren Group’s background in Venture Capital and Private Equity we take an engaged approach to our philanthropy and create ongoing relationships with socially purposed organisations, providing them with grants and other support.

WHAT WE DO

Case Studies

The CriSeren Foundation began supporting Corali in 2016, at a time of pivotal change and organisational development for our charity.  Their support was twofold – perfectly pitched advice and consultancy recommendations from Director Chris Llewellyn, together with generous financial support to make change happen.

Our partnership with the Foundation has been valuable in so many ways.  It has helped us to identify and articulate our ambitions, but also to see the importance of backing these up with robust systems and structures.  The result has been transformational, and has enabled us not only to add clarity and vision to our work, but also to grow in confidence as an organisation.  Chris has been a fantastic friend to Corali, opening doors and making suggestions as we’ve gone on, and always with a tremendous amount of insight and sensitivity.  The impact of working with the Foundation has been so positive and will leave a lasting legacy; a massive thank you!

CriSeren started supporting Campaign Against Living Miserably (CALM) in 2012 by funding our first multi-year strategic review. They then helped with further grants which supported recruitment of the new roles of Office Manager and Fundraising Positions. At that stage in our development this sort of capacity building was invaluable, giving us the resource and confidence to professionalise our operations. Chris was also on hand for helpful advice on everything from our governance to HR. CALM has grown enormously since then and although these grants have now finished, Chris, remains an invaluable adviser to the organisation as we continue to develop.

HOW WE CAN HELP YOU

Non-Financial Support

As a Foundation we feel a large part of our role is providing non-financial support both to organisations we have a funding relationship with, and those we don’t. The majority of this support is provided by our Director, Chris Llewellyn What is provided depends on the particular organisation’s context. Some examples of what we have done in the past include:
  • Helped with the development of business plans.
  • Assisted with restructuring and recruitment for trustee boards.
  • Made introductions to other appropriate funders.

HOW WE CAN HELP YOU

Funding Guidelines

We exist to aid small and mid-size UK socially purposed organisations to develop their scope and impact. We create ongoing relationships in which grants are accompanied by other appropriate support.

Eligibility

  • Grants are awarded to Uk registered charities and other socially purposed organisations.
  • The Foundation tends to support organisations with an annual income between £50,000 and £1,500,000.
  • The Foundation does not normally fund organisations which primarily work overseas or support animals.
  • Because the Foundation is hands-on, it tends to support organisations based in the South East and London and is looking for opportunities in South Wales.

Type and size of grant

Grants range in size, with most introductory grants being in the range of £1-3,000, with levels of grant potentially increasing as the relationship develops. The Foundation is happy to provide funding for core costs of registered charities. For organisations which aren’t registered charities the Foundation will fund purposes which directly comply with its charitable objects. We aim to develop an ongoing relationship with the organisations in which grants are usually supplemented by other support.
